Parental, Guardian and Chaperone Responsibility
Parents, Guardians, and Chaperones are responsible for the conduct and appropriate supervision of the minor(s)* and young adult(s)** they are accompanying. Minor(s) must be under direct adult supervision at all times while in the buildings, including the Museum Stores, escalators, elevators, and stairs. Children under the age of 11 need a minimum of one adult for every four children to attend any of our Investigate Labs. Failure to adequately supervise your group may result in the group being asked to leave the Museum.
General Public
In order to ensure the safety of young children, all minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult (age 18 or older). In addition, the Museum requires a ratio of one (1) adult for every 10 children.
School Groups
Elementary (Grades Kindergarten - 5) and Middle (Grades 6 - 8) School groups must have at least one (1) adult escort for every 10 students in order to tour the Museum. A letter to CAVC by a designee member from School Programs Section staff will keep files so that CAVC will inform school groups of this policy. Additional rules and guidelines for school groups can be found in the Field Trips section of the Museum website at http://nameiw.com/programs/.
